This is the top of the line unit, with a price to match. There is an older DG model, and there is a the MC4 model which is a 4 element version which is about $110 cheaper.

Optics and accessories manufacturer Kenko has announced a new pair of teleconverters. The new models, which are a part of Kenko's Teleplus HD Pro series, are a 1.4x and 2x converter designed for Nikon F and Canon EF full frame cameras and lenses.
Available now, the Kenko Teleplus HD Pro converters will cost $249/£219 (1.4x) and $299/£269 (2x). For more information see the Kenko website. Intro 2020 announces details and availability of the new Kenko TELEPLUS HD pro series of teleconverters.
Additionally the Kenko 1.4X TC is more compact and discrete than the Canon version. In summary, the Kenko 1.4X PRO 300 Teleconverter DGX is VERY competitive with Canon TC Canon Extender EF 1.4x III.
For a 2X coverter to work well, you need a f2.8 lens and for a 1.4X you need a f4 lens. Both will work with slower lenses, but you will probably lose AF, and the image will degrade. I have just recently recieved a Kenko 1.4 Telepro DG, mainly for use on my Nikon 300 f4. So far it looks good, it retains AF and the IQ looks good.
